|
A Durometer is an instrument that measures a wheel's hardness and there are two 'similar' scales commonly used. American hardness ratings use the 'A'-scale with numbers ranging from 72A to 105A, while European hardness ratings use the 'D'-scale with numbers from 45D to 61D. The hardness rating is a particular wheel are often labeled onto that wheel. The higher the rating; the harder the wheel. The lower (softer) ratings are usually used for outdoor and inline wheels (78A-88A), while the higher (harder) ratings (93A-103A) are indicative of Speed, Artistic, Jam, Rhythm, Roller Derby and Freestyle.
